Recording Artist Production Project

MTI-533

This course provides student artists a framework for guiding the production and recording of their own projects in the context of the collaboration with MTPI student producers and MPTI student engineers. It will also provide a space for discussion of the production process, and the challenges faced by the student artists.  Faculty and students will review rough mixes of different stages of the projects, from rehearsal recordings to basics, overdubs, editing, and mixing. The course will also present music production topics, including best practices in professional studio recording, the evolution of studio practice, and production analysis.
