Award-winning filmmaker, producer, and musician Martin Shore is the founder of Take Me to the River, a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to preserving musical tradition while bringing music education back to schools across the country and the world. Take Me to the River, Shore's debut film as a director, won the Audience Award at SXSW, Best Film at Raindance Film Festival, and numerous other awards at 10 other festivals around the world. Take Me to the River: New Orleans, the follow up to the acclaimed film, won numerous awards, including a Grammy in 2023. Take Me to the River's education partner is Berklee College of Music. Shore recently built and taught a college-accredited course that began in the fall of 2018. He has been a guest lecturer at colleges across the country and did a residency at the Berklee Valencia Campus and other noted institutions.
