Berklee Music Therapy Ecosystem
At Berklee, music isn’t just heard—it’s used to connect, heal, and drive meaningful change. As a global leader in music and health, we offer distinct academic pathways for students passionate about using their creativity to improve lives. Through our three programs and initiatives, we connect, innovate, and accelerate the development and implementation of best practices in the field of music therapy.
Bachelor of Music in Music Therapy
Join one of the largest and most respected undergraduate music therapy programs in the world. As a music therapy major, you'll receive rigorous clinical, musical, and scientific training to become a credentialed music therapist. Through hands-on experience in hospitals, schools, and community settings, you’ll learn how to assess individual and group needs, use music purposefully to address emotional, cognitive, physical, and social goals, and support people of all ages in achieving improved health and well-being.
Minor in Arts and Health
Open to students in any major, this interdisciplinary minor empowers musicians, artists, and changemakers to explore how the arts can support health, wellness, and social impact. You’ll gain tools to design community-based programs, lead with cultural awareness, and integrate arts into diverse settings. With a focus on entrepreneurship and innovation, the minor also helps you build the skills to launch your own initiatives, develop sustainable arts-for-health ventures, and collaborate across sectors.
Music and Health Institute
Students in both programs benefit from the Music and Health Institute, Berklee’s hub for cross-sector collaboration, applied research, and real-world program development. Here, you’ll connect with leaders in healthcare, education, technology, and the music industry to co-create solutions that address health disparities and expand access to care.
