Global Music Concepts in Electronic Production
This course is an advanced creative study of globally inspired electronic music, emphasizing the integration of traditional musical aesthetics with contemporary electronic production techniques. Designed for students with a foundation in electronic music production, synthesis, recording, and control systems, this course explores the fusion of regional musical traditions — including Middle Eastern, African, Asian, Indian, and Latin American styles — with modern electronic tools and workflows. Through a series of technically focused projects, students will analyze, model, and recontextualize traditional instrumentation and performance practices using software synthesis, sampling, and advanced signal processing.
