Describe your favorite Berklee experience so far.

Performing an iconic Rage Against the Machine song, "Killing in the Name," with a group of friends at a Caf Open Mic. I was genuinely scared we'd be labeled as "too loud" and "not fancy enough for Berklee" but, instead, every single person in the crowd loved it. As a heavier-metal drummer, that really helped boost my confidence and reminded me there is a place for that here, too!

When you think about your favorite class so far, what is one example of why you enjoyed it?

I've enjoyed the way I've been able to implement what I've learned into my music. Every single class here can go beyond the classroom, especially because of how kind professors are with office hours, so you can really get so much out of every single course.

What is your favorite part about studying and living in Boston?

I'm loving the super diverse community; it feels so welcoming. Boston is a wonderful city and having all your friends also being new to it is wonderfulwe can explore it together. But most importantly, I love how music is treated here in the US compared to back home: gigs are important, and everyone comes to support you.

What is one piece of advice you would give to someone applying to Berklee College of Music/Boston Conservatory at Berklee?

Know why you come to Berklee, the school should be just a step towards your dream, not the end goal. You don't go to Berklee just to lock in a practice room, instead go network and learn as much as you can. Don't miss a single masterclass and make friends in all the departments.

Where is your favorite place on campus?

The drum set practice room on the 4th floor of 150 Mass. Ave. I've spent so many hours there; it's literally my safe space. Me and the drums and all my feelings and problems slip away. Otherwise, the 15th floor lounge in 160, where I hang out with my lovely friends!

Why did you choose Berklee?

Because of the networking, the facility, the name, the faculty. I knew that all the biggest names in the industry today somehow went toor nearBerklee, and I wanted to be there too.

What are your plans for after graduation?

My dream is to start a band that will speak to people and make history. I'll move to New York or LA and work as a drummer, singer, arranger, producer, and work on my music, too, and look for the perfect people. We'll see where I'll go!

What have you enjoyed most about the live shows you've been involved in at Berklee?

The community that it forms. Rehearsals can get tough, especially when it's the last stretch, so unless you really build a strong bond with the people you're working with, it's not going to be as good as it could be. It's a team effort, and you've got to be a good team.

Where do you hope to perform this coming year?

I'd love to join another Caf Show! It would be a dream to put together an original show of my music here in Boston, too; maybe I could get a Loft Show. We'll see! I'm also looking forward to collaborating with more artists.
