Youth Mental Health
Music as a tool for resilience, identity, and emotional well-being

Adolescents today face rising levels of stress, anxiety, and disconnection—compounded by trauma, social pressures, and ongoing mental health challenges. At the Music and Health Institute, we partner with schools, youth workers, and community organizations to offer trauma-informed, music-based programs that support youth in expressing themselves, regulating emotions, and building resilience.
Grounded in music therapy and community music approaches, our experiences:
Offer safe, creative spaces for emotional expression and identity exploration.
Support nervous system regulation and stress-reduction.
Build peer connection, self-esteem, and a sense of belonging.
Equip educators and youth-serving professionals with accessible tools for everyday support.
Programs are culturally responsive and developmentally appropriate, meeting youth where they are—whether in classrooms, afterschool settings, or community-based programs. We focus on strengths, voice, and agency, using music to help young people not just cope, but thrive.
Let’s amplify youth voices and mental well-being—through music, together.
